NIGHT HYDRATION FOR THE BEST AWAKENING OF YOUR EYES

  • For the improvement of the tear film and the protection of the ocular surface
  • Night use
  • Without preservatives
  • Does not contain water
  • Can be applied up to 6 months after its opening
  • Can be administered in children and in pregnant or lactating women

USE OF NOCTURNAL OPHTHALMIC OINTMENT

The secretion of tears and their distribution on the ocular surface decreases during the night due to the absence of blinking. This condition is worse in those patients who have dry eyes, and in some cases it causes the union of the eyelid to the ocular surface. This union causes the patient to notice a lot of eye dryness when he wakes up.

The use of nocturnal ophthalmic ointments is indicated in cases of severe ocular sequelae and post-surgery, to improve the tear film and the protection of the corneal surface. In this way, the eyelids glide easily on the ocular surface, and the sensation of burning and dry eyes is relieved.

THE IMPORTANCE OF A WATER-FREE FORMULATION

Water, or humidity in the environment, is necessary for the growth of microorganisms in the preparations. Therefore, in cases where it is not present, there is no possibility of growth or contamination of the ointment.

Preservatives are chemical substances used to guarantee the sterility of the product during its time of use. Preservatives are products capable of destroying or inhibiting the growth of microorganisms, and despite their use at very low concentrations, they present cellular toxicity. Occasionally, damaging the ocular surface cells themselves, causing instability in the tear film, and reducing tear breakup time. This effect is just the opposite of what you want to achieve with the application of artificial tears.

VitA-Pos, thanks to its oily formulation, does not present water in its composition. In this way, the presence and growth of microorganisms is avoided, and in addition, the use of preservatives is not necessary.

VITAMIN A

Vitamin A or retinol palmitate is a natural component of the tear film, which contributes to the differentiation and regeneration of corneal epithelial cells.

It is especially indicated in those cases of severe ocular dryness that occur with cell damage, and in post-surgery to help the epithelium recover the physiological structure.

TIPS for dry eye syndrome

  • Artificial tears

The periodic use of artificial tears based on long chain hyaluronic acid, reduces the feeling of discomfort associated with dry eye.

  • Frequent Blinking

Frequent blinking to evenly distribute the  tear and  keep the ocular surface hydrated. A decrease in blinking favors the appearance of dry eye.

  • Humidity

Stay away from dry environments and increasing the level of environmental humidity present in work and home areas. The use of humidifiers in winter is recommended.

  • Periodic Breaks

Perform periodic vision breaks when using the computer and / or other screens for long periods of time.

  • Appropriate glasses

Use of sun glasses to reduce exposure to sun and wind (environmental factors that increase eye dryness).

  • Nutritional supplements

Use of  nutritional supplements rich in omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) as well as minerals, antioxidants and vitamins.
